(2005-09-08) Godin Incomplete Books
Seth Godin's recent EBook-s have been labelled as Incomplete Book-s - This is part of the Incomplete series of ebooks that tries to identify just a few important (and overlooked) ideas and sell you hard on putting them to work for you. I believe that your problem (if you have a problem) isn't that you don't have enough data. You have too much data! You don't need a longer book or more time with a talented consultant. What you need is the certainty of knowing that you ought to do something (one thing); then you need the will to do it. Smells like writing For Hackers.
-
the first one was Knock Knock!, covering the building of an effective WebSite (Story Telling, Direct Response).
-
the newer on is Who's There? which seems tied to making an effective Marketing Blog (or, as he more generally frames it, Viral blogs).
- Blogs work when they are based on: 1. Candor; 2. Urgency; 3. Timeliness; 4. Pithiness; 5. Controversy... if you can't be 4 of those, don't bother.
