(2006-07-10) Beinhocker Strategy Unknown

Eric D Beinhocker on "Creating Strategy in an Unknowable Universe", excerpted from his Origin Of Wealth book. Rather than thinking of Business Strategy as a single plan built on predictions of the future, we should think of strategy as a Portfolio of experiments, a population of competing Business Plan-s that evolves over time. (Learning Organization, Scenario Planning vs Planning)

This excerpt focuses on Microsoft during 1987 (focus on MsWindows? dump OS and do apps?). Considering how much Monopoly-driven cash they had to throw around, I'm not sure this is an informative example for other managers.
