(2007-10-01) Nyc Startup Camp

NYC will have a Start Up BarCamp Oct22-23 (that's M/T, not a weekend). (Live Event)

Update: I'm here. First half-day ("University") smells like sponsor pitches.

  • Jason Hoffman (Joyent) was excellent [z2007-10-22-HoffmanScalability]. The others have been a waste for a variety of reasons.

End-of-day: the UnConference bits aren't doing it for me. Maybe if I were in the early-Start Up-building phase, and had some specific itches to scratch, it would work for me. But lacking that, the discussions seem too vague to me to be either useful or interesting. Leaving my Intro Vert tendences unchecked. I'd rather be at a real tech-driven BarCamp where there's stuff to look at. Maybe I'll go to work, but head over for [the](http://wiki.startupcamp.org/wiki/Speed Geeking2) Speed Geeking? Doesn't seem too likely, given the location not being super convenient from the office...
