(2008-05-14) Hash Tags

Was it Stowe Boyd who started using the Hash Tag convention in Twitter?

It's being used by TWemes and TwitterNotes. But I don't really think usage has spread that far yet.

But Phil Jones has gone to the dark side with Mind Traffic Control support for them.

I, of course, prefer WikiWord As Tag. I really hate inline punctuation (which is why I prefer Python over line-noise like PHP and Perl).

I had another thought: for such short-form items like To-Do List items and MicroBlog entries, what if you just indexed initial-cap words, even if single words? That way you could use Smashed Together Words when you wanted, and not worry about making bogus mid-cap selections for single words (e.g. Twitter).
