(2008-11-12) University Coworking
On a CoWorking thread for NextNY, I came up with a Brain Fart for going after Nyc Challenges related to having a Critical Mass of Start Up development.
Local universities should open up space currently used for student study/work spaces for CoWorking. (To handle safety/security concerns, could have some way of registering for an ID or something.) That way students would see that Start Up-s exist as a "career" alternative, and might actually find some to work with. Start Up-s would get CoWorking space (doesn't have to be free but needs to be cheaper than NYC Real Estate would imply), access to College Education students (Viral Marketing test-bed, interns, etc.) (cf Work Community)
