(2009-11-11) Fbreader Crashing

When I was trying to get Makers onto my Nokia N810, I ended up with FBReader crashing on me.

• I copied over the EPub version, and it seemed to have nothing but a headline.

• So I copied over the HTML version and tried to open that. I think I succeeded, then deleted the EPub, and ever since then can't launch it at all.

• Tried de-installing and re-installing app with no change.

• Just found advice. Involves wiping out entire 'state.xml' file of settings. Which mean's I'd lose my place in the middle of a couple long EBook-s. I may try to edit the file...

  • Yes, that worked. Ended up removing references from a number of xml files in that directory. But still have the original EPub book showing up in the list. It must be getting cached somewhere, or something.

    • Once I deleted the book source file, then loaded it, went back, etc. it finally disappeared from the list.

• then I could re-add the HTML file, and open it fine.
