OReilly ran a column by Jonathan Knudsen back in 2000. He also provided a list of references, and wrote one of the books - ISBN:1-56592-692-7 .

official software is only for MsWindows, but it smells like there are various hacks (e.g. for LinuxOS which includes a Python library) available, and you can work with various languages (MIT has its own Logo implementation, with a visual GUI that's for MacOS).
