need to start trying to describe why I think many people are largely apathetic about politics

just "apathy"? not interested in anything beyond being a Consum Er?

focused on narrow [Self Interest] rather than being concerned with anything "bigger"?

maybe they're right, and government shouldn't matter: if it does, it's because it's too much of a Big Government? ("both sides" are busybodies)

people get tired of trying to understand Complex System-s

• it's hard to even define the current state of a system, much less what to do about it

"both sides" are corrupt, bogus, hostile to a Transparent Society, etc.
