the belief that technological Progress is independent of Culture, or even that progress shapes culture, rather than the other way around...
- does a Hacker inherently believe this? Not necessarily, being a Hacker is often just a personal approach to getting what you want, without any big thinking. OTOH, someone trying to solve a Grand Challenge probably won't succeed without being a hacker of some sort....
