(2007-09-13) Google Social Networking

Google is adding Social Networking features to lots of its products. Will they support an OpenSocialNetworkingModel, to trump FaceBook?

Marc Canter agrees that Social Networking is a feature to add to a product: if/when the OpenSocialNetworkingModel spreads, it won't be a business.

• He notes that their group is using the Widget approach to add Social Networking to any site. I look forward to seeing a good specific example...

• does that un-coupled approach make sense? Or does that host-site really need a code library which will make it easier to add Social Networking features that are more fully integrated with their "core" data? Dunno, just scratching...
