(2011-06-02) Wilson Mobile Primary Always On You

Fred Wilson notes how Mobile devices (Cell Phone, Tablet) are becoming the Always On You computer.

But he's focused on them as Media Player. If you can simply "play" the video on the iPad on the TV via a technology like Apple's Airplay, then the IPad becomes more than the Remote Control. It becomes the Set Top Box replacement. I'm not sure I buy this model: I think the Home Server Media Center makes more sense, as a family-shared repository that can be sent to devices around the home. Also note that in his example, the IPad isn't even storing the Video, it's just running a player app for giving permission for Streaming.
