Continuing Education (EducationAdults, Credentialism) for physicians (MD, HealthCare), generally to maintain state licensing.

There is Category1 and Category2. It sounds like states will often set a minimum total number of credits across categories, plus set a minimum number of credits that are Category1. Category2 is "SelfDirected".

  • in addition some states have extra requirements like "10 of those credits must be in Risk Management of patient safety".

A lot of CME gets subsidized by Phar Ma, but abuses have numbered the days of that model.
