Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

When the vast majority of elected officials are members of one of just 2 key political parties.

A natural (?) outcome of [First Past The Post]/[Majority Representation] .

One could argue that this results in little real "choice" for the citizenry.

Some say that what's messed up in European politics is due to having more than 2 parties. (a )
