(2008-09-19) Python Platform Of Choice
Hmm, what Python Web Framework makes sense to build the next Start Up on?
Google App Engine just makes me nervous: Lock-In, EULA, etc.
- but maybe ok for free-yet-public thought-balloons?
Django? Closest to Google App Engine?
Robaccia revisit?
And what about Data Store? Do you stick with MySQL or jump to something like CouchDB?
Gloria W still prefers CherryPy (with Cherry Template Template System, because it's pure Python).
- Jan'2009 update: she's happy with a from-PHP migration tactic of having PHP just as a Template System calling a CherryPy back-end via HTTP (directly on a non-standard port), not through Apache) with a ReST interface.
Mar'2009: decide that Django is best next-place for me. Greatest mindshare, ergo support, not tied to single vendor (though want to think in terms of running it on Amazon Web Services), etc.
