I feel like Critical Thinking is useful at dissecting other people's ideas, and maybe challenging your own, but doesn't help much in creating anything (DAndD), nor does it help weigh out all the uncertainties and Side Effect-s of reality...
There is a [Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal] instrument.
